在幫顧客收盤子前，一定要先禮貌地詢問對方是否已用餐完畢，如果貿然收走，可是會惹毛還沒吃完的顧客。以下介紹其他收盤子前詢問顧客的英文說法：
Do you still need that plate/dish?（那道菜您還要用嗎？）
Have you finished eating?（您吃完了嗎？）
Have you wrapped up your meal?（您用餐完畢了嗎？）
